PMACS Overview

What this page tells you

PMACS at a glance: LPC (PHI allowed; hosts VDI, cnt-fs, cnt1), BSC imaging cluster (no PHI), HPC (PHI allowed), and Ivanti VPN, with PMACS wiki links for LPC access, LSF, modules, VPN, and GPU jobs. Open new helpdesk tickets rather than reopening old ones.

LPC Servers

PMACS LPC service: limited performance computing environment, GPU resources also available here. PHI data is allowed here. I am not too sure of the specifics, but the usage costs are different between HPC and LPC.

PMACS BSC: Brain Science Center computing cluster for imaging, which is hosted in the PMACS LPC environment. PHI data is NOT allowed on this cluster. This is a shared cluster where we have a directory to work in.

Applications are installed on a central shared directory so the applications are available to all the hosts in our cluster. "modules" can be used to see what is available and to load or unload software packages.

HPC Servers

PMACS HPC service: high performance computing environment, GPU resources available here. There is a shared cluster here that Kevin primarily uses for his NLP work and training his models. Data with PHI is allowed here. I believe HPC doesn't get as much usage as LPC.

PMACS VPN - Ivanti Secure Access

Josh, I advise against trying to reopen tickets. When a ticket is marked resolved it is removed from our queue and we don't always receive updates. It's best just to create a new ticket and reference the old ticket number. -Curt.
