Control Scan Neuroradiologist Check¶
What this page tells you
Every 3T or 7T control must be reviewed by neuroradiologist Joel Stein. For 3T, enter the Flywheel path in REDCap and complete the 3T Control Check-Trigger; for 7T, get the scan to Gabby via hard drive, then complete the 7T trigger. Exclude abnormal controls.
Dr. Joel Stein, the neuroradiologist, needs to check the brains of any control who is scanned as part of the 3T or 7T research protocol because we want to ensure that everyone in this cohort is a "healthy" control (i.e. no brain abnormalities)
3T Control Scans
- After a scan is uploaded to flywheel, go to the patient's REDCap and in the "3T MRI LEN Preimplant" field, fill out the flywheel path in "Where was the scan saved?"
- Format of flywheel path: presurgicalEpilepsy/sub-RIDXXX
- Make sure date of scan is also filled out
- Go to "3T MRI LEN Preimplant Control Check-Trigger," check that all the information is correct, and mark the field as Complete.
- Once marked as complete, it will trigger Joel to check the scan. He will notify you and the subject if something is abnormal about the MRI
- Joel will fill out the "3T MRI LEN Preimplant-Control Check" after he has reviewed the scan.
- If something is abnormal, do not include this patient's scan in cnt-fs
7T Control Scans
- After a control 7T MRI is completed, fill out "7T MRI Research Preimplant," ensuring that date of scan is filled out
- Ask the MRI Techs to upload the scan to our hard-drive Transferring 7T Scan Using Hard-Drive (retired page)
- Get the hard-drive to Gabby Bustamante.
- Once Gabby has let you know that the scan has been uploaded to PACS, you need to trigger the REDCap survey to Joel
- Make sure everything in "7T MRI Preimplant Control Check-Trigger" is filled out properly. Mark as Complete
- Once Joel has checked the scan, he will fill out "7T MRI Preimplant-Control Check"
- He will let you and the subject know if something about their scan is abnormal
- If that is the case, do not include this patient's scan in cnt-fs
